 Job Description :

 

GCP is a must have. Client is replicating their legacy app in GCP to make their GCP data warehouse the single source of truth. The legacy system database is SQL Server. The data modeler is the person that will lay the foundation of the data before the data engineers touch it. Some responsibilities will be data mapping and creating views. 

Responsibilities

·         Extensive relational, dimensional and graph data modeling.

·         Undertake the preprocessing of structured and unstructured data.

·         A good understanding of designing data warehouse in cloud.

·         Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community

·         Collaborate with engineering and product development teams

·         Deliver on timeline commitments where necessary

·         Build trust and strong relationships at all levels

 Qualifications & Experience

Required 

·         Must have designed, developed, and supported a complex software solution.

·         Proficient in SQL.

·         Good Understanding in dimensional/multidimensional data modeling.

·         Experience with graph, transactional, and operational data modeling is a plus.

·         Familiarity with all stages of the product development cycle. Experience maintaining engineering best practices, including defect tracking, design reviews, and appropriate testing.

·         Hold strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

·         Take a pragmatic, product-oriented approach.

·         Possess the ability to work cross-functionally with minimal supervision.

 

Preferred

·         B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or similar quantitative fields/work experience.

·         Experience with cloud environments

·         7+ years of experience in data modeling.

·         3-7+ years of experience in at least one scripting language (Python, Perl, JavaScript, Shell)

·         2+ years of experience working on streaming data applications

·         3+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices

·         3+ years of experience developing Java-based software solutions, scripting and OOP languages

·         3+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux, including basic commands and shell scripting

·         2+ years of experience with GCP

·         1+ years in the healthcare industry and knowledge of their business practices
